Unable to create new document in Adobe Illustrator CC

I’m unable to create a new document in adobe illustrator . I can open documents up but for some reason I can’t create new. It’s all normal until I press the “ok” button, and nothing happens.
Not really a solution, but a possible workaround.
Preferences > General > check ” Use legacy “File New” interface”
